On our way back home from Chamonix, we stopped at a little restaurant in Megève, about 40 mins away from where we were. My grand-parents have been here countless times when they come up every winter for ski season. They are now friends with the owners so they were very nice to us when we got there.
The inside is super cute. I loved the wood used everywhere or the fireplace at the entrance. It gave the whole atmosphere a very warm and welcoming feeling. Especially since it was pouring rain outside, we felt a lot better once we entered the restaurant. The tables are covered with white tablecloths and there are some flowers decorations here and there to brighten the place. As I said, super cute!
The food was excellent. I ordered the fish (if I remember right, it was a sole) with an almond sauce. There were some roasted potatoes and a bit of ratatouille (stewed vegetables) on the side. Overall, delicious! The fish was tender and the sauce was a nice addition to add some flavour. The potatoes were crispy and well-cooked and the ratatouille was a nice touch to add some colours to the plate.
For dessert, I got some vanilla ice creams topped with meringues and chocolate sauce. The mix of warm and hot was very nice on top of the soft texture of the ice cream and the crispy one of the meringues. Highly recommended (especially if you are a chocoholic like me).
As mentioned, the service was also great. The server was very nice and made plenty of helpful recommendations for our dishes and wines. The dishes were served fast and were delicious. He even talked and joked with us.
I cannot recommend this place enough. The decor is super pretty. The food is excellent and the people running the place are very nice. What more can you want? (Dancing ponies? No, I am sorry.)
